Hutschenreuther Fine China from Germany

Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther was born in Thuringia and started his working life as a porcelain painter. In 1814 Hutschenreuther discovered kaolin,  used for the production of porcelain, in north east Bavaria and he decided to set up his eponymous state of the art porcelain factory.

A second factory was established by Carl Magnus' son Lorenz Hutschenreuther in the nearby town of Selb in 1857 and in 1969 both companies merged to form Hutschenreuther AG, Selb. The lion motif, used by Lorenz Hutschenreuther in Selb and designed by Paul Klee in 1919, was unified with the founding date of the original factory to create the company trademark, signifying excellence in quality, craftmanship and creativity. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Hutschenreuther history, the lion trademark has been updated and appears with a redesigned logo.

Hutschenreuther porcelain is highly sought after by international connoisseurs and lovers of fine porcelain and today, forming part of the Rosenthal Group, Hutschenreuther is one of the most important porcelain brands in the world.
