Walter Gropius

Walter Adolph Georg Gropius (May 18, 1883 – July 5, 1969) was a German architect and founder of the Bauhaus School , who, along with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer, is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture.

Gropius founded The Architects Collaborative Inc. (TAC), in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1946 and constructed production facilities for Rosenthal at Selb and Amberg . His association with Rosenthal began in 1963 and resulted in many beautiful designs, including the timeless TAC dinner service.
